Lehigh Valley Restaurant Updates

Warm Sugar, the new bakery we reported on a little while back, is poised to open sometime in later this month or early March.  A stop by indicated serious work being done inside.  This comes a few years after the cupcake trend first debuted in major cities.  Today, the New York Times effectively put a fork in the cupcake and handed over the “gourmet pastry of the moment” crown to the doughnut.

The Paddock in Allentown is possibly poised for a takeover.  The small spot that serves up pizza and steak sandwiches may be going craft beer.  The owners of the Hops Fogelsville Hotel have signed a sale agreement and are in the works of buying The Paddock.  Considering the Hops Fogelsville is now sporting a 45+ bottled beer selection and 16 taps of craft, we’re hoping the same happens to The Paddock.

We reported on the Tally Ho changing management before and it looks like some of the changes are happening sooner rather than later.  The craft beer is back, and Victory Brewing‘s brand new Headwaters Pale Ale is now on tap there (and we hear it’s damn good).  Perfect springtime beer, if only it would stay as warm as Friday.

Work is finishing up on the new Terra Cafe (former Wildflower Cafe).  Acts are in the process of being booked with the likes of Subtle Experience and Trouble City Allstars already nailed down.  This will be great.

LVLive had the scoop on two Easton changes: Moscato’s is opening up in the former Mangia spot and Cafe Del Mar is switching its name to Miguel’s.
