St James Gate Hosting Dogfish Head Beer Dinner

St James Gate at the Sands Casino in Bethlehem is hosting a Dogfish Head beer dinner on August 15th at 6pm.  The dinner includes four courses, four beer pairings, and is $50 per person including tax and gratuity.  This is perhaps, beer-wise, their most ambitious one yet.  The menu and pairings are below:

First Course
Watermelon Gazpacho
Cilantro, mint, roasted jalapeno, cucumber
Paired with: Midas Touch

Second Course
Local Tomato & Goat Cheese Tart
Basil, extra virgin olive oil, greens, balsamic
Paired with: Pale Santo Marron

Third Course
Braised Beef Short Rib
Fried summer squash, mustard greens, pilsner sauce
Paired with: My Antonia

Dessert
Summer Blackberry Tart
Peach-white chocolate-yogurt ice cream
Paired with: Festina Peche

  1. Any idea what the beer pours are like at one of these? Just seems odd going to St. James Gate for a good beer dinner. I was at Spinnerstown Hotel for one last week and they always do a great job.

  2. Honestly have no idea about that one. I’ve never seen them include pour sizes in any of their dinners. If I had to guess I’d wager 7-8oz of each, but like I said, not sure.
