The Big Dirty – performing at 12pm and 1:30pm at Main Street
Let us first say that their album title, “Champagne Bidet,” is one of the greatest things ever.  This funky group combines elements of indie rock, groovy funk basslines, and hip hop to meld awesome tunes that will have you dancing early on in the Fest day.

The National Parksperforming at 3pm at Volksplatz
This slightly country-sounding group has a mellow feel with piano, strings, and acoustic guitars coming together behind some great harmonies to make for a chill start to your Friday night.

Red Martina – performing at 3:30pm at Plaza Tropical
There’s not a lot of hip hop at the free stages this year, so if you’re looking for something different these guys are it.  With Hayley Cass’s beautiful vocals and Stoupe, a veteran of Jedi Mind Tricks, the talent here is strong.

VoirVoirperforming at 5:30pm and 7pm at Main Street
This Bethlehem-based indie rock group just opened for The Flaming Lips last week, so they’re doing something right.  These guys have been playing all over the region, including Philly and Brooklyn, so if you haven’t caught this local act yet then now’s your chance.

The Kickstand Bandperforming at 8:30pm at Main Street
Their description of themselves is the most accurate: “A sunny power-pop-punk duo.”  With their EP being names “Summer Means Fun,” this is the exact kind of band you want to chill out to as the sun sets and the party starts.

Igor and the Red Elvises performing at 9pm at Volksplatz
If you’ve somehow been to Musikfest and never heard of the Red Elvises, we’ll educate you. They’re Russian surf rockers who are sometimes a little dirty and always insanely lively on stage. If you’ve already seen them before, then you already know you should be hitting this show.

Kbrissy – performing at 11pm at the TD Community Stage
Kbrissy is another Lehigh-bred DJ like KapSlap, who has gone on to play some pretty significant shows.  Blending new and old school hip hop, Kbrissy is the perfect pick for what to watch after the Snoop Dogg show wraps up.
