Hotel Bethlehem Hosting Titanic Dinner

by theelvee_w2oe3m

The Hotel Bethlehem is commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking by holding a dinner where they serve the same meal the first class passengers enjoyed the night the ship sank.

The dinner will take place on April 20th at 7pm in the grand ballroom.  The evening will feature a variety of memorabilia from the ship, guest speakers, and music throughout the evening.  Although the dinner appears to be quite abbreviated from what the actual (insanely decadent) dinner was, it gives a good glimpse into the past.  The meal is $100 per person and reservations are required by Monday, April 16th.  Reservations can be made by calling 610-882-0450 x10.  Proceeds will go to preserve the 1741 Gemeinhaus and the 1762 Waterworks.  The menu is below:

Hors d’Oeuvres
Canapes a l’Amiral
Tartine prepared with Shrimp Butter and Poached Shrimp

First Course
Consomme Olga
Sea Scallops

Second Course
Roasted Lamb Chop with Mint Demi-Glace
Sirloin of Beef with Chateau Potatoes
Chicken Breast Lyonnais with Creamed Carrots

Third Course
Cold Asparagus Bundle

Dessert
Waldorf Pudding
Chocolate and Vanilla Eclairs

Open Bar
Including Punch Romaine, signature cocktail drink
