Old School Sandwich Co Open for Business

Old School Sandwich Co. has opened in the former Relish restaurant space in the Tilghman Square Shopping Center at 4686 Broadway in Allentown.  Relish closed in February.

The majority of their menu is based around building a sandwich.  First you select a meat (Italian beef, Chicago pork, turkey breast, ham, corned beef, Polish ham, hard salami, pepperoni, meatloaf, tuna salad, cappy [guessing this refers to capicola]), then a cheese ( sharp provolone, housemade mozz, pepperjack, cooper, Swiss, cheddar), a bread (Portuguese roll, Jewish rye, wheatberry, sourdough), and one veggie (onions, hot peppers, sweet peppers, dill pickles, horseradish, lettuce, tomatoes, giardiniera, kidney beans, roasted tomatoes, cucumbers, black olives, homemade relish, chickpeas).

You can also add on fried peppers, caramelized onions, candied pepper bacon, a fried egg, slaw, sautéed spinach, sauerkraut, or chili sauce for an additional fee.  Prices for the base sandwich range from $5.50 to $7.50  Other menu selections include potatoes, kettle chips, mac n cheese, soup, salads, a variety of hot dogs, and nachos.  They also have a few specialty sandwiches if you have a hard time deciding between all of those options.

The most intriguing thing on the menu?  Bourbon beans.  Beans cooked with bourbon.  Yes. Fucking. Please.
