We told you yesterdayabout McCarthy’s setting up shop on the alcohol front on Thursday. We popped in for a quick pint to see what the setup was like. When they say it’s temporary, it definitely is. A small bar is set up on the side of the dining area, serving up a small array of brews and the start of a very nice scotch and Irish whiskey list.
So far they’ve got a few house wines, beers on draft (Hop Devil, Guinness, Smithwicks, and one other we’re forgetting), and bottles like Tullamore Dew, Killbeggan, Jameson, Speyburn 10, Highland Park, Macallan Cask, Laphroaig 10, Bushmill Black, and Johnnie Walker Red, among others. As we mentioned yesterday, the restaurant will start going through a large transformation in December, when a local architecture firm will redo the entire place.
