Artsquest has announced a few additions to its line-up, including alt-rockers KONGOS, Eddie Money, Go Go Gadjet, Drive By Truckers, HmfO, Carl Palmer Band, and Jimmy and the Parrots.
Kongos, a South African band whose song “Come with Me Now” has been garnering heavy radio play, will hit the Musikfest Cafe on August 17th. Topping the US Alternative charts this year, “Come with Me Now” shows off the band’s quirky hard rock sound coupled with an accordion. All of the band members are brothers, and the sons of 70’s musician John Kongos. Tickets for the show are $17.50 to $20 in advance or $20 to $25 the day of the show.
Rocker Eddie Money, who found success with songs like “Two Tickets to Paradise” and “Take Me Home Tonight” will be playing the Musikfest Cafe on September 28th. Tickets for the show are $45 to $55.
Local cover band Go Go Gadjet will be playing on October 3rd. According to their concert title, they’ll be debuting the “Escape Concert Experience,” but the press release, their Facebook, and Artsquest’s Facebook all give no explanation as to what the hell that means. Anyways, tickets are $8 to $15 in advance or $10 to $18 the day of the show.
Alt country band Drive-By Truckers will play at the venue on October 22nd. Known for their heavy touring schedule, the band has been around since 1996. With ten studio albums under their belt, the band has consistently grown more popular over the years, with their latest album English Oceans, performing the best yet at number 16 on the Billboard 200. Tickets for the show are $25 to $35.
HmfO, or Hall and Motherfucking Oates, will bring their awesome tribute to Artsquest on Halloween. Also the geniuses behind Start Making Sense, a Talking Heads cover band, these locals are spot on with their renditions and lively as hell on stage. Tickets for the show are $10 to $15 in advance or $18 to $20 at the door.
The Carl Palmer band, featuring Carl Palmer of ELP fame, will hit the stage on November 23rd. Palmer, who has reunited with ELP and Asia in recent years, has also toured solo and played medleys of his hits from over the years. Tickets for the show are $25 to $35.
