Social Still, a microdistillery that we broke the story about back in August, opened this past Friday. The distillery is the first project under the city’s new CRIZ designation that gives significant financial incentives to developers and businesses looking to open in designated zones throughout the city. Owned by Elaine Pivinski and Adam Flatt of Frankling Hill Vineyards, the new space also incorporates a satellite wine and gift shop, allowing patrons to buy wine for takeout or dine-in (in bottles only). The distillery is currently selling their vodka (around $28) and gin (around $32) as well as cocktails and small plates. Flatt said there’s still a little work to be done – adding light dimmers and a sound system – but they opened to patrons on Friday regardless. Eventually they will be adding experimental spirits to their line-up as well as aged spirits like whiskey.
The cocktails ($10-$12) include the following:
The SouthSide – gin, lemon juice, mint, simple syrup
Ramos Gin Fizz – gin, heavy cream, lemon, lime, simple syrup, orange juice, egg white, club soda
The Raspberry Robbery – vodka, lemon, pineapple juice, raspberry simple syrup, orange marmalade, nutmeg
High Tea – gin, Classic Owl’s Brew tea, ginger syrup, mint, lemon juice, lime juice, egg white
Crazy Mary – vodka, McClure’s Bloody Mary Mix, Dillie Beans, bacon
Modern English – gin, lemon, maple syrup, pear, cinnamon

Oh My Darjeeling – gin, pink black Owl’s Brew tea, Hibiscus syrup, lemon, lime, orange juice
The Tease ($5) – a sample (our was 3/4 of a shot) of the gin and the vodka
Non-Alcoholic beverages ($5) include the following:
Sparkling rosemary limeade – lime juice, simple syrup, rosemary, club soda
Cucumber Cooler – cucumber, lime juice, simple syrup, cranberry
Ginger Lemonade Spritzer – ginger syrup, lemon juice, club soda
They’ve also got a line of soda syrups (ginger, sarsaparilla, cream, grapefruit, and hibiscus) available for sodas ($3 each)
Food-wise they’ve got:

Stopped by this weekend, great place, impressive refurb. Definitely worth a stop… especially once they add 1 or 2 more choices to their production line. Looking forward to the tequila!
