I think this is a new one for the valley…I’ve seen scotch dinners, cocktail dinners, and beer dinners but never a tequila food pairing event. While Patron may not be known in cocktail geek circles as the best tequila, this is an easy (and cheap) way to get some grub and be able to compare silver (unaged), reposado (aged a year) and anejo (aged 3 years) tequilas all together. For $20 you get the following:
Paired with Patrón Reposado
Tortas de Queso Bleu –
Bleu Cheese, Apricots, Proscuitto and Olives in Puff Pastry.
Paired with Patrón Anejo
Ensalada de Cebolla Roja y Naranja –
Orange segments tossed with thinly sliced Red Onions, Raspberry Vinegar, Oil, Black Olives, Sunflower Seeds, Almonds and Patrón Tequila soaked Raisins
Paired with Patrón Silver
Camarones y Chorizo –
Spicy Chorizo Sausage and Shrimp sauteed with Garlic, Patrón Silver, Onions and Lemon served over Flat Bread
Patrón XO Cafe
Empanadas de Manzano Carmelo
Empanada stuffed with Apples cooked in Patrón XO Cafe, Brown Sugar & Butter baked and then tossed in Brown Sugar & Cinnamon
Flyer is below. For more info check out the Tequila and Tapas page at The Brew Works.
