Hijinx Brewing Company is officially opening the doors to its new brewery and tasting room on Friday, November 21st at 5:30pm with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by the first public tapping of brew, including a special cask from their first batch of beer made on the new brewhouse. The new facility, located in the Allentown Economic Development Corporation’s Bridgeworks Enterprise Center, is big step up from their previous brewery, located in founder Curt Keck’s standalone garage. Going from a 1 barrel to a 10 barrel brewhouse and a massive increase in fermenting capacity will allow the brewery to distribute their beer to bars across Pennsylvania through Shangy’s Distributors.
Customers will be able to sample and buy beer, merchandise, and growler fills. Keck said he hopes to have a bottling line installed within a year’s time to allow for increased accessibility. In addition to Hijinx, the Colony Meadery opened at the Bridgeworks Enterprise building last year and distiller Anthony Brichta is aiming to open County Seat Spirits in the coming months.
