Seamus Kennedy – performing from 1:30pm to 3pm at Volksplatz
This hilarious, PG-13 comedic Irish performer has been around a bunch, but if you enjoy the act or haven’t caught him yet, he’s a must-see. Blending drinking songs, traditional Celtic music, and Irish humor, Seamus never fails to get a crowd laughing or singing along.
Ula Ruth – performing from 4pm to 5pm at the TD Community Stage
It’s a super bummer these guys are playing so early on in the evening because they should have a bigger audience. Already hitting SXSW, this Neon Trees-esque rock band has catchy riffs and lyrics, setting them up for a promising career.
Michigan Jackson – performing from 5pm to 5:40pm at Lyrikplatz
A sometimes extremely mellow folk performer, Ryan Howell can go from soothing Justin Vernon-like singing to a more upbeat and poppy style.
Jon Braun – performing from 7pm to 7:40pm at Lyrikplatz
A man of many bands, Jon Braun is a member of LV bands the Great White Caps, Start Making Sense, and HmfO. We’re not quite sure what he’ll be performing during his solo set, but we can assure you that it’ll be entertaining. Note, this is one of the WDIY talkback shows so Mr. Braun will be speaking about his music and influences between songs.
Blaire Alise & The Bombshells – performing from 8pm to 9pm at Plaza Tropical
This rock group, fronted by a female singer, combines a 50s/60s pop rock sound with a fresh take on the genre.
Sympathy and the Lion – performing from 9pm to 9:40pm at Lyrikplatz
This Lancaster cello and guitar duo delivers powerful lyrics with warm, gorgeous emotion. Their folky, Americana-driven songs are stellar and worth a listen.
Satellite Hearts – performing from 9:30pm to 11pm at Plaza Tropical
This soul rock group from New Hope has stellar vocals, metal and jam band influences, and a mature sound.
