Brooke DiCaro – performing from 5:30pm to 7pm at the National Penn Bank Jazz Cabaret Stage
If you’re looking for something a little tamer for your Friday evening, DiCaro’s singer/songwriter and jazz-tinged singing promises to put on a great show.
The Revival – performing from 7pm to 8:30pm at Liederplatz
These synth-heavy hard rockers have an awesome sound, and their single “Shake This” has a radio-ready feel to it.
Mree/Marie – performing from 7pm to 7:40pm at Lyrikplatz
This singer/songwriter has been playing at Musikfest for years and recently got a shoutout from Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon for covering his song “Michicant”
Puddles Pity Party – performing from 8pm to 9pm at the Musikfest Cafe
Probably the most well-known person that will be hitting the free stages, Puddles Pity Party is a sad clown with a golden voice. If you haven’t heard of him already, just go ahead and watch the video of his super-popular cover of Lorde’s “Royals”
Julian Fulton and the Zombie Gospel – performing from 8:30pm to 10:30pm at Main Street
This indie rock outfit has played at Musikfest previously and their melodic jams still have us wanting more.
Igor and the Red Elvises – performing from 9pm to 11pm at Americaplatz
A perennial favorite at Musikfest, these crazy Russians play a mix of rockabilly and surf punk to often hilarious lyrics and always have a huge crowd, dancing the night away.
Gangstagrass – performing from 9pm to 11pm at Volksplatz
These guys have become a festival favorite for us. Bluegrass crossed with hip-hop pretty much sums it all up.
KiT – performing from 9:30pm to 11pm at Plaza Tropical
This Caribbean band plays a crazy mashup of traditional Caribbean music with electronica thrown in the mix. At minimum they should be a pretty entertaining act to see live.
