Just a friendly reminder to all of our readers:
The Brew Works is hosting their cask ale festival again this Saturday. For those uninitiated, cask beer is unfiltered beer that’s conditioned in a cask and served without additional carbonation (the way kegs usually are). It results in a smooth, mellow take on what most people consider traditional brew. There’s going to be some great stuff there, including the first ever east coast cask of Oskar Blues. Word has it they’ll be pouring their new Deviant Dale’s IPA, one that hasn’t shown up on shelves yet. Other attendees include Yards, Stone, Flying Fish, Weyerbacher, Victory, River Horse, Sam Adams, Prism, Sly Fox, and Hammersmith Ales. If you grab tickets before Saturday they’re $30 and go up to $35 the day of the event.
And don’t forget Artsquest’s Nowadays festival. Running Friday and Saturday this weekend, the music festival will feature some top indie acts including Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., Jukebox the Ghost, We Are Scientists, RJD2, and Maps & Atlases. Tickets run $29 for single day admission and $55 for a two-day pass. Prices go up to $39 for a single day ticket and $69 for a two-day pass the day of the festival.
