Bar Louie, a chain restaurant headquartered in Texas, is moving into the space the Shula’s Steakhouse left behind at the Promenade Shops in Center Valley when they moved to Allentown, an official from Bar Louie confirmed.
The bar, which describes itself as “an eclectic urban bar with warm surroundings,” has 94 locations throughout the country, with the closest located in Bensalem and the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. The food menu includes a sprawling variety of appetizers, from meatballs to Bavarian pretzels to potstickers, flatbreads, burgers, sandwiches, entrees, and desserts.
The bar, obviously, is well-stocked with signature martinis (like the R&R, with Hendrick’s, watermelon syrup, lemon juice, and cucumber), classic (Manhattan) and modern (coconut mint lemonade) cocktails, wine, and craft beer.
A representative from the company said that they hope to start construction within the next month. Shula’s who was sued for over $1.7 million in an alleged contract breach over its move to Allentown, settled the lawsuit out of court. Shula’s closed at the Promenade Shops over Memorial Day Weekend and is slated to reopen in downtown Allentown at the end of the month.
