Weyerbacher Brewing Company in Easton is very busy these days, especially after their rebranding, expansion, and remodeled visitor’s center are all finally complete. They recently released Heresy, which uses their Old Heathen Imperial Stout as a base before aging it in bourbon barrels. This is available at the visitor’s center as well as throughout the Lehigh Valley a beer retailers.
They also released the latest brew in their Brewer’s Select Series, a series of small-batch experimental beers. This one is Camelopardalis, following in the new naming system of using constellations. It is a 10.2% ABV Belgian Imperial IPA brewed using North American pale malt grain and fermented using a Belgian wheat yeast. It’s available on draft and in bottles at the visitor’s center and will be available on draft in very limited quantities around the Lehigh Valley.
Thursday, March 27th will see the return of one of Weyerbacher’s best beers (in our opinion), their Riserva raspberry sour ale aged in oak barrels. The beer will be available in 750ml bottles in limited quantities at the Weyerbacher visitor’s center and will be available at select beer retailers around the Lehigh Valley. Get this while you can because it usually sells quickly.
And lastly, Weyerbacher will be releasing an exciting new beer called Rhumpshaka in April. This brew is an 11% brew that was aged for 9 months in 12-year rum barrels. This will be packaged in 750ml bottles and will be available only at Weyerbacher’s visitor center. Only around 90 cases, or ~1000 bottles will be available. Weyerbacher notes the beer is “unfiltered and has a profound boozy character. Huge coconut and passionfruit-like aromas fill your nose. The heat from the rum is immediately apparent and blends well with the vanilla and coconut flavors, which linger on your palate. It’s a sweeter finish with tannic notes commensurate with extended barrel aging.” We’ll keep you posted on the release date when it becomes available.
