The Sands Casino said today that its St James Gate restaurant will be closing on November 30th. The announcement comes over a year after the Sands Casino president, Mark Juliano, announced several changes coming down the pipeline to the casino’s restaurant landscape. At the time he said that Emeril’s Italian Table is expected to shut down as well, and will be replaced by something similar to Emeril’s New Orleans.
Taking the place of St James Gate will be Buddy V’s, an Italian restaurant concept by Buddy Valastro of “Cake Boss” fame. Opening in spring of next year, the Sands president said in a statement that “we are committed to providing a variety of exciting dining experiences for our guests…with the addition of Buddy V’s, we are proud to add another successful, award-winning restaurant to our offerings.” The Sands also operates a Buddy V’s at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas.
Menu items include ‘family favorites’ from Valastro like steak pizzaiola, linguini with clams and lobster, and several other recipes that he says were passed down from his mother, grandmother, and aunts.
