The Sun Inn and the South Bethlehem Historical Society are teaming with Starter’s Riverport to do a “Foods the Built the South Side” event series. Every Wednesday night in February and March, from 5pm to 11pm, Starter’s Riverport will be hosting an event that celebrates foods that is both culturally and historically significant to the heritage of South Side Bethlehem. Included in the menu are things like pierogies, halupkis, kielbasa & cabbage, chicken paprikash, beef goulash, and pork & sauerkraut.
Then on Saturday, March 3rd at 7pm the Lehigh Valley Homebrewers are teaming up with Chef Michael Adams to host a beer dinner at the Sun Inn. The event will serve as a fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Tickets will be $75, and 40% of that will go to the charity (and can be used as a tax write-off). The five course meal will be as follows:
Small plate hors d’oeuvres
paired with an English Bitter served on Nitro
Braised pork cheek with braising jus and gnocchi
paired with a Marzen
Beet, bib, bacon. Roasted beet, bib lettuce, bacon, arugula salad with blue cheese
paired with an American Wheat Ale
Venison osso bucco or Herb goat cheese risotto for vegetarians
paired with an Imperial Brown Ale
Pear tart with ginger and dried cherry ice cream
paired with an Imperial Witbier- Earth, Wit and Fire (Hijinx Brewing Company)
