Sweet Indulgence Café, a new wine bar and restaurant, is set to open on April 1st at 216 E Broad St in Bethlehem. The owners, Christina Margies and Rick Jefferson, said the two have been renovating the space since last May. Chef Karen Whilt, a NY-based restaurateur with experience opening 17 restaurants and 35 years of culinary experience, will oversee the first weeks of the restaurant. Menu items (subject to change prior to the opening) include small plates (guacamole salad, cheese platter, stuffed mushrooms, serrano ham and Manchego croquettes with romesco sauce, asparagus ham crepes, and empanadas, among other items), soups, quiche, specialty sandwiches, and desserts.
The establishment will be open from 11am to 2am, with the kitchen serving the full menu until 10pm and a bar menu available until closing. Margies previously owned a chocolate shop, Sweet Indulgence by Christina, on Bethlehem’s south side. She will be creating a variety of cakes and desserts for the establishment available for dine-in or take-out. The restaurant will also feature specialty drinks with infused ingredients, craft beer, and of course, a full wine list. A VIP area, featuring a couches and a private serving area, will be available to rent out.
